We are a charitable organization dedicated to developing a community spirit and supporting our military through sportsmanship, partnering and a competitive environment.

Mission Statement
To develop a community spirit that supports our military in a sportsmanship environment by partnering a fishing angler with an active duty soldier to compete for recognition. This activity contributes financial donation to military unit family funds. The team will again support the Military and their families in the Savannah  Area.

About Us
"Take a Soldier Fishing" is sponsored by Bass Anglers Plus, Inc. Since 2004, the Bass Anglers Plus Fishing Team has held 25 Open Tournaments, five Championships, and eight Charity Events. Each year, the number of boats has increased, and the fishing is getting better; it's becoming more and more difficult to bring in a five (5) fish limit. Our goal is to continue to improve each tournament by being Safe and Honest, Having Fun, and catching fish.

History
Bass Anglers Plus was founded in 2004 by Bubba Stephens and his best friend Al Jordan. Their goal was to host an open bass tournament on the Savannah River to raise money to then sponsor an annual charity event. The charity they chose was the "Make-A-Wish" Foundation for Georgia and Alabama. Between 2004 and 2008 the group raised over $6,000 to help special needs kids who are fighting for their life.

At the end of the 2009 open season tournament trails, Bubba chose to change the charity and in 2012, the team will again support families at Savannah's Hunter Army Air Field.
